Nashville, TN – TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center was recently nationally recognized for its commitment to patient safety, quality, and transparency by being named a Top General Hospital in the United States by The Leapfrog Group. TriStar Southern Hills was the only hospital to receive this award in Tennessee and one of 35 in the United States. This prestigious award is given to those hospitals that meet stringent criteria and have proven to be vigilant and committed to ensuring patients receive the best in safe, high-quality care. To be eligible to receive this designation, hospitals have to meet six criteria which includes receiving an ‘A’ hospital safety grade, which TriStar Southern Hills has received for the last three consecutive reporting periods.
Less than 6% of eligible hospitals earned this elite award. The Leapfrog Group is a national health care nonprofit driven by employers and other purchasers of health care to continue to advance hospital safety and quality. The Leapfrog Hospital Survey is the nation's only rating system focused entirely on errors, accidents, injuries, and infections.
