Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are an essential part of the Southern Hills family. Southern Hills Volunteers provide support to staff and joy and comfort to patients and families. Many of our clinical and non-clinical departments welcome volunteers as part of their staff.
Currently, we have the following openings. Most shifts are 4 hours. In many cases, evening and weekend shifts are also available.
Front Desk Greeter (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays)
Duties: Serve as greeter at main entry desk; provide directions and information to visitors and families; assist registration with arriving patients; keep waiting areas neat and tidy.
Human Resources Office Assistant
Duties: Filing; clerical assistance and special projects
Ambassador – Medical Floors
Duties: Provide non-clinical support to patients; Offer “Sunshine Cart” - with magazines, newspapers, books, ice, water, snacks for families
Registration Assistant (at TriStar Medical Plaza Brentwood location)
Lab Assistant
Duties:Answering phones; assisting lab personnel; organizing test labels; clerical duties
Same Day Surgery
Days: Thursdays; Duties: Assist with patients in wheelchairs; escort parents; special projects, staff support
ER Staff Assistant
Duties: Stocks rooms with supplies and linens; Stocks staff lounge with nutrition, supplies; Monitors levels of stock and supplies
