NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 30, 2013) – TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center has earned full accreditation with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. The accreditation recognizes TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center’s dedication to improving quality care for patients. TriStar Southern Hills is the first hospital in the state of Tennessee to have achieved chest pain accreditation with PCI as well as receiving certification with The Joint Commission.
TriStar Southern Hills underwent a rigorous on-site review in May 2013. A Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care expert evaluated TriStar Southern Hills for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients including community education, evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with Acute Coronary Syndrome and an organizational structure evaluation.
“Achieving Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care in PCI, for our organization, is a major step toward maintaining excellence and continually improving the care we provide,” said Thomas Ozburn, chief executive officer of TriStar Southern Hills.
